“Collaboration and understanding of the society we live in have never taken anything away from the talent of the great creative artists of the past and I don’t see it taking anything away from the talent of any artist today.” - The Advanced Student in Search of Growth

Collaboration has always been an important part of my artistic process. Collaborative projects allow us to learn about the members in our group, their process, how they think, and how they create. We can learn a lot when working with others, our ideas expand and become more powerful when collaborating. In theatre we hear individual perspectives and how each person in the room relates to the story being told, no two ideas are ever the same. In my classroom I want my students to collaborate with each other and learn from this process. A sense of community will be built in the classroom as they work together to create meaningful art projects through thoughtful discussion. Collaboration will help empower young students in my classroom.
